         groups are experienced in this area:

  Uninsured and in need of prescription medication? The following agencies provide medication at no cost:

 

       Oxford Pediatrics will provide fee medical care to uninsured children (up to age 18) on Wednesdays from 9am

       Select Care Benefits Network (SCBN) is one of America's leading Patient Advocacy Organizations that

              specialize in Patient Assistance Programs (PAP). SCBN gives prescription drug assistance by helping it's   

              members locate, qualify for and successfully access hundreds of free prescription programs on an ongoing

       The Forest Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (FPI), Patient Program provides medication for qualifying patients at no charge.

              If the patient qualifies under FPI guidelines, a three-month supply of the requested drug(s) or device(s) will be

              shipped to the patient's licensed practitioner for dispensing to the patient. Enrollment questions should be

        Oakland County Home Buyer Program

               This program is aimed at helping low- and moderate-income families take ownership of vacant, foreclosed

               single-family homes and condominiums as their primary residence. Interested buyers with incomes below

               120% of the Area Median Income (For example: a family of 4 earning up $83,900) is eligable for this program.

       Energy Assistance Hotline

               Michigan Department of Human Services offers energy assistance to both DHS and non-DHS clients.

       Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program

               Services for those who can not afford their home energy bill or their home may not be safe, causing risk

               serious injury or illness. Contact Mr. Donald Mussen, Director, Income Support Programs at the Michigan

               Family Independence Agency.

               An energy bill that is subject to shut off due to non-payment may be postponed up to 21 days due to a

               medical emergency. Contact your gas or electric company for more information.

               Home Heating Credit can be attained by those who are low-income and are receiving public assistance, or

               unemployment compensation. The application  (MI-1040CR-7) can be requested from the Michigan Dept. of

               OLSHA provides assistance for those facing gas, electric and water shutoff. Call for more information.

       Christian Credit Counselors (CCC)

                CCC's mission is to help individuals and families burdened with financial pressures learn how to become

  Employment Services

     Michigan Works

               Offering Employment and training programs, CCC serves employers and workers by providing activities and

               a forum for information exchange. CCC can also help with transportation issues in the local area. The Oxford

     Operation ABLE of Michigan

     Love In the Name of Christ of North Oakland County (Love INC)

               A non-profit cooperative effort that links churches, volunteers, and service agencies and helps them to

               organize their efforts by reaching out to the poor and disadvantaged. Love INC helps people in need of

     Rochester Neighborhood House

              A non-profit human service organization founded by communities of faith in 1968, assists people during times

              of hardship. Some services offered are food pantry, clothes closet, financial support, budgeting help and

              counseling support.

  Transportation

     North Oakland Transportation Authority (NOTA)

             NOTA will provide free transportation for seniors (60+ years of age) and people of any age with disabilities

             (with doctors letter). Phone to get an application and be interviewed for approval to use service. Once

             approved, rides can be arranged with 48 hours notice. Transportation to work, doctor appointments and

             hospitals, etc. can be arranged. The service is free but donations are accepted. For more information please
