Stephen Ministry has been a part of Lake Orion United Methodist Church since 1983. Stephen Ministers are lay Christian individuals that have completed an intensive 50 hr training program that prepares them to provide confidential, one to one Christian support. A Stephen Minister (SM) is trained to listen, care, encourage, pray and walk alongside you during difficult times.
Stephen Ministers are trained to support people that are dealing with issues such as parenting concerns, divorce, mild depression, grief, cancer, and aging just to name a few. Support can last several weeks, months, or years depending on the needs of the person seeking the help.
