Almost one in four school-aged children in Lake Orion are food insecure. Lake Orion United Methodist Church strives to assist in the cost, preparation and delivery of nutritious lunches to these children during the summer months when the free school lunch program is closed. Our volunteers report back that our mission has allowed them to feel their time is well spent and helping the vulnerable children in our own community. 

​Blessing in a Big Bag - LOUMC served over 1000 people in the summer of 2025 (80 families) with six deliveries that included an assortment of food items.
​Items that are always welcome:

• Mac & Cheese
• Spaghetti and other pasta
• Pasta sauce
• Cereal
•  Breakfast bars and protein bars
• Fruit cups
