LOUMC CHILDREN MINISTRIES
MADE: "Music, Drama for Everyone" is our quarterly series where children engage with one another and the Bible storie through song, drama, crafts and recreation! The theme for this series is “Sharing”. We will focus on sharing in both small and large ways what God has so generously shared with us! As it is spring and Earth Day is coming up there will be a focus on God’s great gifts of food, water, air, animals and humans! That just about covers it all! The program has something for all ages if you wish to be involved. Dates and times are listed under "Up-coming Events".
Camp Fire Light for Vacation Bible School
Planning for VBS : July 16, 17, 18.
Surrounded by water, trees, and rolling hills, Camp Firelight is the perfect location for every Camper’s favorite summer activities! During each assembly session, Campers join first-time camp counselor Sam and Lu (short for Lumen), the lightning bug puppet, and learn to face their fears while trusting in God. Each day, Campers see Counselor Sam face new challenges, from as simple as leading Campers on a hike to meeting a new and wise nature expert. With the help of Lu the Lightning Bug and the Camp Counselor Guidebook, Counselor Sam and our Campers explore timeless Bible stories that show how Old and New Testament Campers trusted God in the face of their own fears and went on to do great things in God’s name.
Registration will begin April 28th for both children and volunteers!
Ages 5 through 5th Grade
Youth in grades 6th – 12th are welcome to volunteer!
We will need “all hands on deck” so please speak to Pastor Linda to share your availability and talents!

Children in grades K through 5 will be called from the sanctuary to join Miss Julia our Children's Ministry Teacher for a Bible-based lesson from the widely acclaimed Orange Cirriculum. Please contact Miss Julia through the church office if you have questions.
There is a new Bible for children I hope to order called, The Peace Table. Several friends in ministry have recommended it but I have yet to review it myself. The Amazon description writes: “From beginning to end, the Bible reminds us that we are made in God’s image and that God’s table has room for us all”! Already this description of the Bible has me sold! I can remember learning from one of my early Sunday School teachers the “Empty Chair Rule”. The rule is: One always pulls up an “extra” chair to the table other than what you think you will need and pray for a new face, a new friend, a new traveler, to come and fill it. This has certainly stuck with me as my faith grew and I learned that at God’s table it truly is “the more the merrier”.
Plan to join us this fall (or before) and bring a friend! Hope to see you at the Peace Table!
