Good Friday Youth Star of Hope 2022 Event:
Youth gathered on Good Friday for a community service event which included painting 'Star of Hope', painting a clear coat on 'Stars of Hope' which will hang in Oxford High School, and assembled 100 bags (each) of hygiene products and non-perishable food bags which will be distributed to the homeless. The youth enjoyed a pizza lunch after all their efforts. A great day! For more information on the nonprofit "Star of Hope" at https://starsofhopeusa.org/.
Fall 2021 Youth Programming for 6th – 12th Grade
Sunday Evenings in Youth Café from 6:00 p.m. – 7:30 p.m.
Youth are encouraged to attend worship services with their family on Sunday mornings. If they are interested, there are many opportunities for youth to serve during the service which includes greeting, ushering, music and reading scripture, and projection. During youth group on Sunday evenings, the youth are given time to fellowship with each other before settling in to learn about their faith through discussion and small group format. Our goal is to equip our youth to be leaders and empower them to be world changing disciples of Jesus Christ. Youth are welcome to bring friends. Beginning, Sunday, March 6th, we will no longer require masks for children, youth, and adults during Family Ministry programming and events unless it is required by another organization offsite. We will continue to utilize other safety protocols when possible to limit the transmission while the number of cases continues to drop in our area.
If you have any questions regarding the youth program, please contact Dawn Ames, Director of Family Ministry at dawn.ames@lakeorionumc.org or (248) 563-2399.
